Board Members Tour the South

Board Members' Tour the South

Board members of the World Zionist Organization went to the scene of the massacre and destruction in Kibbutz Kfar Aza, together with Doron Liebstein, Ofir Liebstein OBM’s brother who headed the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council, and to Kibbutz Nir Oz, together with Rauma and Gadi Kedem, the parents of Tamar Kedem-Siman-Tov, who was murdered together with her husband, their three children and grandmother Carol in their home. The tour exposed the intensity of the harsh realities of the destruction that occurred; the smell of fire, the destroyed buildings and the lives taken by a bitter and cruel enemy. After that, the board members visited the emergency center of the Netivot municipality and ended with a professional visit to the Tkuma Administration for the Rehabilitation of the Gaza Envelope.

The Zionist Board Members Tour the Southern Cities

The first stop on the tour was the city of Ofakim Although Ofakim is not part of the Gaza Envelope, they suffered heavy losses from the infiltration of terrorists into the city. During the tour, the members of the board were exposed to shocking stories and met families who had just finished the seven day mourning period for the murder of their loved ones.

The board members were impressed by the personal resilience, sense of obligation and resourcefulness of the residents who fought and defended their homes and communities.

They completed the tour with stops at Sderot, Kibbutz Zikim and the city of Ashkelon.
