Jerusalem Day

Jerusalem of gold and of bronze and of light ...

Today we mark Jerusalem Day, a national holiday that marks the unification of Jerusalem after the Six Day War.

From the dawn of time, Jerusalem has been a holy place for a wide variety of cultures, religions and peoples, and more than once its land has been burned under different desires and conflict of intent between them.

Considering this complexity, we seek to preserve the union as well as to preserve a better future of us all. What could be happier than celebrating together?

And when we stopped to ask this question, we came across the words of the late Ilan Ramon, to the former President of Israel: "It is an honor and a pleasure for me to write you this letter from space. This morning we flew over Israel, I saw Jerusalem clearly and while looking at our capital I said one small prayer: "Shema Israel. We work for the benefit of humanity and from space our whole world seems to be one unit without borders, so I want to read from above - let's work for peace and for a better life for everyone in the world". Ilan Ramon (in a letter to President Katsav from space) | 2003.

We wish you all a Happy Jerusalem Day - a day of patience, restraint, mutual respect and love!
