During May, the Department of The Zionist Enterprises, in collaboration with other departments of the World Zionist Organization, the Ministry of Diaspora and educational organizations in Latin America, organized several conferences and meetings held in parallel in the city of Cancun Mexico in which more than 500 participants took part.
The first conference "Beyajad", addressed principals and leaders of educational frameworks from small Jewish communities in Latin America and revolved around the issue of education and questions such as: "What is different about schools in the 21st century"? "What is important in Jewish education in the Latin America"? "What is the role of the educator"? And more.
Simultaneously with this conference, there was "Hamifgash" conference led by the department in collaboration with the Ministry of Diaspora and in the presence of the Minister of Diaspora, Dr. Nachman Shai. The purpose of the conference was to hold a discussion around the issue of Israeli and Jewish communities' relations in light of the changes in the world in general and in the Jewish world in particular.
During these two conferences, the "Cancun Declaration" was signed, to assure a continued cooperation according to the future goals shared by the leaders of the Jewish communities and organizations in Latin America, the Ministry of Diaspora, and the World Zionist Organization.
Following these, the Department of The Zionist Enterprises produced the "Ketzev" camp, in which Israeli dance groups from different countries took part in a joint discussion on art and culture as a tool for strengthening ties between Israel and the Jewish communities.
