The Pilot Trip serves as an in-depth groundwork for making the right choices of Living, Studying and Working in Israel and serves as the best preparation for making Aliyah – building your life in Israel.
Trip objectives:
- Exposure to the Israeli academic world and the nature of student life: visiting leading universities and colleges, studying programmes, dormitories, etc.
- Exposure to the Israeli economy and career opportunities in Israel.
- Learning about Aliyah rights and benefits in the context of higher education.
- Getting a 'taste' of Israeli young life – culture, community etc.
- Supporting participants in the process of immigration while providing assistance and individual solutions regarding studies and employment in Israel.
Target Audience:
People aged 18-30 who are interested in making Aliyah to Israel – while exploring their higher education and employment opportunities in Israel.
Components of the program:
1. Familiarity with the academic world
- Visiting campuses of leading universities and colleges and getting familiarized with the nature of academic studies in Israel.
- Getting to know the various study programmes at each campus.
- Meeting with key figures on campus - meeting with faculty and academic staff.
- Immigrant Students panel - a panel with people who chose to do similar programs and studies in Israel.
2. Student life in Israel
- Dwelling - living options (housing, living costs, conditions, etc.)
- Recreation and Leisure in Israel - Knowledge of the different character of each city. Recreational and entertainment possibilities in various cities.
3. Career Option in Israel
- Meeting with key figures in the Israeli hi-tech world , exposing the participants to innovation in this arena and employment opportunities in the field
- Career options in various industrial and commercial fields
- Career options in the financial arena
4. Zionist content
- The tour will include meetings with representatives of the World Zionist Organization and the Jewish Agency in Israel
- The tour will include experiencing the Israeli social and cultural scene as well as unique sites.
Eligibility:
All participants will undergo an initial screening through an interview.
The conditions for participation in this trip are: (a) the desire to make Aliyah to Israel and to work/study in Israel (b) eligibility to make Aliyah by the law to return (c) attendance of preparatory meetings.
The cost:
The cost of the whole trip including flights and land arrangements is estimated at £1,250. The trip is significantly subsidized by the World Zionist Organization and therefore the participant will only pay £480.
