Solidarity Leadership Mission

At the beginning of the month, a delegation arrived in the country, consisting of 14 leaders representing the major and central Jewish communities in Argentina. The delegation came to express solidarity with Israeli society during these challenging times of war. This war crosses borders and encounters a disturbing wave of anti-Semitism worldwide. Our brethren in the Diaspora are the ambassadors of our people, the bearers of our truth. The leaders, who came from all corners of the political spectrum, united with the intention to get a close look, to hear, and to see what our country has gone through, the horrors crying out to the heavens from the horrific Saturday of October 7th.

During the visit, the leaders met with the honorable President of Israel, Mr. Isaac Herzog, visited wounded individuals in hospitals, and offered a special prayer at the Western Wall in the presence of public figures, rabbis, and the Chairman of the World Zionist Organization, Mr. Yaakov Hagoel.

An emotional meeting also took place with representatives of the families of the abducted in the residence of the Argentine ambassador in Israel, where the leaders committed to working for the return of all abductees home and placing the issue on the agenda of the Argentine government. The delegation visited Kfar Aza and Nir Yitzhak, kibbutzim that lost many friends, some of whom were abducted to Gaza on the horrible Saturday morning of October 7th. The leaders were exposed to the difficult events and witnessed firsthand the destruction and great fracture. During the tour, they met with residents of Kibbutz Kfar Aza, who were uprooted from their homes and fled to shelters.

This solidarity visit, lasting a week, is important like no other. The leaders return to their communities with a substantial and emotional load, which they will share with community members and tell them about what our people have experienced, from a first-hand source. We are all committed to spreading our truth as it is.

According to their testimonies, they are committed to continuing the public struggle through the Argentine government until the return of all abductees to their homes. Out of the common pain and mourning we share, we will strengthen and grow together as one people.

Thank you for your blessed participation.

Am Yisrael Chai.
