This year, Hanukkah will look different, unfortunately, but it is still important for us to emphasize and increase the light. We have embarked on an all-encompassing initiative, in the framework of which we operate in the United States, Europe, and South America, to bring the heroic stories of the people in Otef Aza to Jewish communities worldwide. In the United States, we collaborated with our partners at the JCCA, organizing meetings and Hanukkah candle lighting events in more than 20 community centers. In Latin America, we visited Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, and Uruguay to share the stories of the survivors.
From the heroism of the Maccabees to the heroism of our time, the people of Otef Aza presented a face and identity to the disaster. They recounted their stories in a straightforward manner to diverse communities, deepening the connection and mutual support of the Jewish people.
Hanukkah is also the holiday of heroism, and we will do everything to increase the light!
