Rabbi Doron Peretz, chairman of the World Mizrahi movement, studied for about a decade at some of the leading yeshivas in the country and was ordained as a rabbi.

Rabbi Peretz has served the Jewish community in South Africa for about 15 years in many leadership positions, including community leader, rabbi and educator. He served as the rabbi of the Eastern Movement of South Africa, the senior rabbi of the vibrant Beit Midrash in Johannesburg, and headed the School of Yeshiva Colleges, the first and largest Torah school in South Africa.

Rabbi Peretz returned to Israel with his family and began serving as senior chairman of the global Mizrahi movement and is the driving force behind the renewal of the Mizrahi movement around the world. Since taking office, Rabbi Peretz has focused on organizational and content change. He has written a book called “Leading the Way", a  collection of writings on some of the most important matters of Jewish life.

Rabbi Peretz is married to Shelly, a talented physiotherapist, and they live in Yad Binyamin with their four children.
