After four years of Zionist and diplomatic effort, and 77 years after the remains of the visionary of the state, Binyamin Ze'ev Herzl, were reburied in Israel, we have been privileged to complete a historic move and bring the remains of Shimon Leib and Rivka Herzl z"l from Belgrade for burial on Mount Herzl, alongside their grandson and family members. A delegation of the World Zionist Organization, headed by Chairman Yaakov Hagoel and his deputy and acting replacement Dr. Yizhar Hess, worked together with representatives of the Military Rabbinate, ZAKA, and the Israeli Embassy in Serbia to transfer the remains ahead of their flight to Israel and in accordance with Halachic guidelines. This is a moment of national and family closure, reuniting the members of the Herzl family in the heart of the State of Israel. A historic tribute to the roots of the Zionist vision and the fulfillment of the visionary of the state's last will.
