Boycotts & Sanctions - The New Antisemitism - London, 2017

The World Zionist Organization and the ZFUK - Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland held a successful Conference on Countering Antisemitism in London in October 2017. Over 170 participants from 8 countries in Europe attended the Conference.

Under the title "Boycotts & Sanctions - The New Antisemitism", Marking 100 years since the Balfour Declaration, participants were given ideas, aspects and tools in order to fight Antisemitism on campus, in politics, in the media and around the world.

Among other distinguish guests and speakers were Mr. Yaakov Hagoel, Vice Chairman of the World Zionist Organization, Mr. Paul Charney Chairman of the Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland, Ms. Sharon Bar-Li Deputy Israeli Ambassador to the UK, Mr. Vladimir Sloutsker, Founder & President of The Israeli Jewish Congresss, Mr. Silvan Shalom - סילבן שלום , former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Stephen Pollard , Editor of The Jewish Chronicle, Mr. David Hirsh of the University of London, Mr. Jacques Kupfer Officiel Member of the WZO Executive Board , Ruth Deech, Baroness Deech and Mr. Jonathan Turner of the UK Lawyers for Israel, Mrs. Lesley Klaff Senior Lecturer in Law, Sheffield Hallam University, Mr. Arsen Ostrovsky, Executive Director, The Israeli Jewish Congress, Mr. Arieh Miller, Executive Director, Zionist Federation, Mr. Shadman Zaman, MK Mr. David Bitan - דוד ביטן Chairman of the Israeli Knesset Coalition, Ms. Katharina Von Schnurbein European Commission Coordinator on Combating Antisemitism and more.

Representatives of students from all over Europe, attended panels on Antisemitism on Campuses and heads of Zionist Federations, community activists and youth representatives attended the successful conference as well.

Vice chairman of the WZO Yaakov Hagoel: "we shall continue holding conferences in order to increase the fight against Antisemitism and de-legitimization of Israel. The conferences inspire the audience to partake in collective action to counter these measures. I am glad to see the tremendous turnout of new faces at the conference and I look forward to continue working together with communities around the world for the sake of the Jewish People and the land of Israel."
