The goal of the campaign is to try and look to the future, difficulties notwithstanding, and without forgetting our experiences as a nation; this program has sustained its active status in recent months. Despite our continued grief, we are attempting to rebuild and create hope for more peaceful and safer times. Recent programming includes events, workshops, special ceremonies and other activities that aim to create connections with Jewish communities around the world. You are welcome to follow the project Ten Days of Hope
The National Institutions building has been illuminated by night with encouraging messages in different languages, sent by Jewish communities from around the world in support of the State of Israel and Israeli society as well as to commemorate October 7. Messages came in from France, Canada, Mexico, the UK, South Africa, Australia, Argentina, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Brazil, Austria, the USA, Ivory Coast, Turkey, Greece, the Netherlands, Serbia, Spain and other countries.
After October 7 last year, they left everything behind – their families, their friends and their familiar homes – to make Aliyah and enlist in the IDF in order to make a contribution to the defense of the State of Israel and its citizens. To mark one year since the outbreak of the “Iron Swords” war, the World Zionist Organization and the film unit of the IDF Education and Youth Corps have collaborated to produce a moving clip to Rami Kleinstein’s song ‘Davka Achshav’ (‘Now of All Times’), in conjunction with the IDF military bands and singing ensembles, which was filmed against Israel’s spectacular vistas.

This kit offers a complete program to-go for a ceremony to commemorate the first anniversary of October 7. It offers readings and songs, with prayers that have been updated and adapted in the wake of the atrocities, as well as narratives of bravery, first-hand testimonies and supplementary content. The resources also include links to short videos that lend themselves to the different component parts of a ceremony, which can also be used as stand-alone materials or for screening as a backdrop to on-stage events. A short instructive video offers explanations and recommendations on how best to construct and conduct the ceremony. Further to demand, the collection is currently being translated into Spanish.
The Jewish people and Israeli society have always been inspired by a deep sense of hope, but it has become even more important to be able to reconnect with this core value over the past year. This concept motivated an amazing project, involving some 4,00 children from 40 Jewish schools worldwide, with individual kits being distributed to all the schoolchildren, containing the word ‘Tikvah’ (‘Hope’) in Hebrew and English, so that they could share a creative composition across international borders – an entire wall of Hope. Some schools were even able to send representatives to Israel with the artwork they produced. The children from the Diaspora’s Wall of Hope and Dreams was pieced together and erected on the forecourt plaza in front of the National Institutions, with additional contributions being inserted by members of the World Zionist Organization Executive and government ministers. The exhibit was officially unveiled at a dignified ceremony attended by the Chairman of the World Zionist Organization, the Head of the Education Department, the Minister for Diaspora Affairs, the Minister for Aliyah and Integration, and teacher shlichim.
Special blessings were written and designed in honor of the Chanukah holiday in collaboration with Shitim Institute. The blessings relate to the current situation we are in and emphasize the light of the Jewish people.
