The World Zionist Organization invited the general public to write letters to people they would like to light up on the holiday. Ten of the letters were selected, and they received a bouquet of flowers and chocolate. Among the recipients were bereaved families, displaced families, reservists and more.
One of the families who received a letter was particularly moving.
It was to a family that was evacuated from Kiryat Shmona and is currently in Jerusalem. The mother is nine months pregnant, the father is in combat reserve service and they have three small children.
The representatives of the organization led by the chairman of the World Zionist Organization came to celebrate with them by lighting candles in a festive and Zionist celebration.
