U.S. East Coast | Spring 2026

Tour Recap

The Department for Zionist Operations of the World Zionist Organization brought the Haggadot of Hope exhibition on a deeply successful tour of the U.S. East Coast, presenting it in 14 communities and reaching hundreds of participants across synagogues and community spaces.

The exhibition opened a window into the cultural creativity of the border kibbutzim of the Western Negev, showing how the Passover story has been reinterpreted across generations, and how it remains a living, urgent narrative of freedom, responsibility, and shared life. Featured pages were drawn from dozens of Haggadot spanning the 1930s through this past Passover.

Responses were profoundly moving. The exhibition forged a meaningful connection to the broader idea of Jewish culture as a body that continually renews itself, drawing strength from the realities, changes, and upheavals of life.

The journey created an opportunity for dialogue between Jewish, Israeli, and American communities and us. In a time defined by uncertainty, the winds of war, and shifting identities, conversations returned again and again to questions of education, responsibility, and the future of Jewish life. The resilience and strength of the kibbutz communities to rebuild themselvesת physically and culturallyת proved a powerful source of inspiration. The openness to learning and the commitment to connection shown by the communities we met created new bonds and deepened existing ones, underscoring the importance of expanding and nurturing an ongoing partnership with Diaspora Jewry.
