New York | April 2026
In April, the Nifgashot community gathered in New York for a deeply moving evening with Miriam Peretz, Israel Prize laureate, who shared her full personal story in English for the first time before a North American audience.
The event was led by Michal Cababia, WZO Executive Representative in North America, in partnership with the American Zionist Movement (AZM), Netaim, The Jewish Agency for Israel, the Nifgashot community, UJA-Federation of New York, and theMarlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan.
Bringing together Israelis and American Jews under one roof, the evening created a rare and meaningful space for both communities to encounter Miriam's story of loss, faith, and hope — together. Her words resonated across language and geography, reminding all who attended of the shared bonds that connect Am Yisrael wherever we are.
Attendees left strengthened, inspired, and united in a renewed sense of identity, resilience, and connection to Israel.
