The campaign was a joint initiative of the WZO North America, the Department of Zionist Activities in the Diaspora, and the MASA project, designed to unite the global Jewish community during Hanukkah 2024.
The campaign was inspired by the booklet Taste of Memories, created by the Department of Zionist Activities in the Diaspora under the leadership of Neria Meir and the “Matkon Im Zikaron” organization. The booklet combines moving personal stories and recipes that honor the memory of heroes, serving as an educational and emotional tool to bring Jewish communities closer to the values of Zionism and remembrance.
The project commemorated the lives of IDF fallen soldiers and victims of terror in Israel by recreating their favorite recipes and sharing their life stories. Over the eight nights of Hanukkah, eight Jewish influencers who support Israel collaborated on Instagram to prepare the recipes and share the stories of the fallen heroes.
