The GOLDEN GOLDA 2023 award ceremony was held in New York, initiated by the WZO Department for the Promotion of Aliyah headed by Marina Rosenberg-Koritny. Named after Golda Meir – Israel’s only female Prime Minister and a symbol of political talent and Zionist determination – the award honors women who have made significant contributions to the Zionist movement, Aliyah, and Jewish community life worldwide.
Since its launch in the USA in 2017, ceremonies have also been held in Argentina, Brazil, France, and the United Kingdom. This year’s laureates included: Galina Goldberg – CEO of Freedom FM radio; Alicia Post – community leader and activist; Rachel Friedland – lawyer and city commissioner in Aventura, Florida; and Inna Vernikova – New York City Council member and leading voice against antisemitism.
Marina Rosenberg-Koritny emphasized that the award is a modest tribute of gratitude and recognition for the women’s outstanding contributions to the Zionist movement and the Jewish people.
