Michal Cababia, the Executive Representative in North America, in collaboration with Ruthy Izbicki from the “Pashut Wow” studio, created a unique art wall composed of 21 canvases. Each canvas presents a different Zionist motif - symbols from Jewish history, the State of Israel, and our collective identity as a people. The wall was designed with educational and values-based intent, aiming to foster a visual and emotional connection to Zionist ideals and spark meaningful dialogue around them.
Held at the JCC in Schenectady, New York, the gathering was attended by children and adults, Jews and non-Jews alike. Among those present was David Posner, President of the JCCs of the Capital Region of New York, whose presence underscored the importance of this initiative within the local community.
Michal led the event and opened with an introduction about the WZO, and the organization’s role in shaping Jewish-Zionist identity in the Diaspora. She then facilitated an interactive activity around the wall, including a quiz and accessible explanations of each motif. Participants were encouraged to reflect, ask questions, and share personal thoughts related to the various themes. The wall served not only as an educational tool but also as a point of connection among participants from diverse backgrounds. Several attendees noted it was their first time engaging positively with Zionist content. The experience was powerful, blending creativity, identity, and advocacy - further proof of the impact of meaningful visual content.
