The 37th Zionst Congress

When

The 37th Zionist Congress will take place in Jerusalem, Israel between the 20th and 22nd of October, 2015. (ז'ט' חשוון תשע”ו).

Where (venue)

The Congress will be held at the International Convention Center in Jerusalem, located at: 1 Shazar Boulevard, PO Box 6001, Jerusalem 9106001.

Who (Participants)

Delegates

Territorial Zionist Federations, which act as umbrella organizations made up of all the Zionist bodies in a single country, are responsible for, among other things, administering the democratic election of delegates to the Zionist Congress.

Once the Zionist Federation's constituent organizations nominate their delegate-candidates, the Federation oversees a parliamentary election where all Jews over the age of 18 that permanently reside in the country are eligible to participate.

All Delegates to the Zionist Congress are at least 18 years of age and have either been elected through the process noted above or nominated by either an international Jewish-Zionist organization or an an Israeli Zionist political party, a Jewish religious denomination or a non-aligned faction to stand as a delegate-candidate in elections.

Only Delegates are entitled to participate in committee meetings and general Congress sessions while enjoying full voting rights.

Deputy Delegates

The bodies entitled to send delegates to the Congress are also entitled to send two deputies for each of them. Deputy delegates may participate in most meetings of the Congress but do not wield a right to vote unless replacing a delegate, either temporarily or permanently.

Observers

Observers are pre-registered for the Zionist Congress and can attend most of its' sessions but cannot enter committee meetings or vote on resolutions or constitutional amendments.
