News

The Department for Culture and Community will work to nurture a vibrant, diverse, and connecting Zionist culture - both in Israel and the Diaspora - that serves as a bridge between identities, sectors, and communities. This will be achieved while empowering Jewish communities as centers of community resilience, encouraging creativity, and preserving a sense of unity.

The Department for Culture and Community operates to strengthen social and community resilience in Israel and the Diaspora, based on a vision that sees culture as a central engine for building a values-driven, connected, and creative society.

We believe that culture is a connecting and empowering force, capable of:

  • Bridging gaps between people

  • Encouraging creativity and innovation

  • Strengthening social cohesion alongside personal and community resilience

The department aims to deepen the sense of belonging and identity, and to inspire a spirit of unity and hope.

The department promotes a variety of activities, programs, and initiatives to strengthen community life, cultivate local and creative leadership, and provide access to meaningful cultural experiences.

This is done by establishing deep partnerships with local authorities, communities, organizations, and creators on the ground, with the goals of:

  • Empowering communities

  • Strengthening the social fabric

  • Creating spaces for encounter and collaborative action—both in routine times and during crises.
