The Department for Culture and Community of the World Zionist Organization, in partnership with the HaMahinot HaOlim youth movement, the Jordan Valley Regional Council, the Ma’ale Efraim Local Council, and Kibbutz Na’aran, leads the Nahal group based at Kibbutz Na’aran.
The program brings together approximately 20 young people before their military service, who dedicate a year to meaningful community service and to strengthening community resilience in Israel’s geographic periphery.
Through educational and community engagement, members of the group take part in formal and informal education frameworks throughout the Jordan Valley and Ma’ale Efraim. They lead artistic and social initiatives centered on art, creativity, and sport, including The Creators' House – Ma'ale Efraim and the “Traveling Art” initiative in communities across the region.
The program also invests in developing young leadership and strengthening personal and community resilience through ongoing training. Together, these efforts nurture a new generation of engaged and influential leaders while strengthening the communities and region.
