Dr. Benzion Shereshevsky

Was born on May 17, 1907 in Kingsberg, Germany.
He worked hard on his Torah studies and the acquisition of a general education.
In 1925 he graduated from high school in Germany and received his matriculation certificate.
Between the years 1925-1929 he studied at the University of Berlin and received his degree Doctor of Laws.
In the years 1932-1928 he specialized in the courts in Kingsberg and passed the state bar exams.
In 1932 he served as a temporary judge on behalf of the German state.
Between the years 1932-1933 he worked as a lawyer in Berlin.
In 1936 he qualified as a lawyer in Palestine.
1938-1949 worked as a lawyer in Jerusalem.
In 1958 his book "Family Law" was published for the first time.
In 1962 he was appointed acting president of the Jerusalem District Court.
In 1974 he was appointed president of the Jerusalem High Court.
In 1975 he was appointed a judge of the Supreme Court.
In 1977 he retired from office.
He passed away on 01/01/ 1999.
