Eliyahu Meron

Born in 1921 in Warsaw, Poland.
In 1932, he immigrated to Israel with his parents.
He served in the Haganah from 1936 to 1939, and later in the Palmach within an elite unit from 1941 to 1947.
He studied at the Mandatory School of Law and at the School of Law and Economics in Tel Aviv.
In 1946, he received his license to practice law.
With the establishment of the State, he served in the IDF as an officer and completed his service with the rank of Major.
Beginning in 1950, he served as a senior partner in the law firm Miron, Ben-Zion & Pribas, which specializes in litigation, investments, and real estate.
Miron, together with his firm, accompanied the establishment of settlements, residential neighborhoods, and major projects built in Israel during his time.
Among his notable activities in legal representation are the following:
Handling international matters, including representing the minority group in the N.S.U. automobile plant in proceedings in Germany.
Representation in public affairs in various fields, including petitions and legal proceedings concerning the preservation of the Jewish character of the State of Israel.
Representation of various banks, including the Anglo-Palestine bank (Bank Eretz Yisrael-Britania), and its shareholders in the framework of liquidation proceedings.
Representation of the liquidator of Art-B, the Polish company that was the largest private corporation in Poland at the time.
Deputy Legal Advisor to the Tel Aviv-Jaffa Municipality (1946–1948).
Director General of the Ministry of the Interior (1952–1953).
Member of the Zionist Supreme Court (1954–1958).
Member of the Board of Directors of the Israel Electric Corporation (1956–1979).
Served on the Central Committee of the Israel Bar Association (1960–1964).
Member of the Ethics Committee of the Israel Bar Association (1964–1978).
Member of the Board of Directors of Tefahot Bank for Mortgages (1975–1995).
Passed away in 1999 and was Buried in the Nahalat Yitzhak Cemetery in Tel Aviv.
