• Was born in Nizhyn, in the Chernihiv region—then part of the Russian Empire (now in Ukraine)—on July 10, 1894.
• He was an activist in Mapai and HaPoel HaTzair, and served as a Member of Knesset on behalf of Mapai.
• He was active in HaPoel HaTzair and, within its framework, served as secretary of the Jewish community in Odessa from 1919 to 1921—a role that led to his imprisonment in Siberia.
• He immigrated to the Land of Israel in 1924.
• He studied at the Mandatory School of Law and was certified as a lawyer.
• Beginning in 1944, he served as a member of the Vaad Leumi (Jewish National Council) and participated in the 14th, 19th, 20th, and 21st Zionist Congresses.
