International Memorial Ceremony

The national institutions: the World Zionist Organization, the Jewish Agency, the Jewish National Fund, and Keren Hayesod – invite you to participate in a global memorial ceremony

Thirty days after Hamas's murderous terror attack that occurred on Saturday, the 7th of October 2023 (the 22nd of Tishrei), on the holiday of Simchat Torah, we will honor the memory of the fallen, and hold a memorial service in the National Institutions Building, with the participation of Jewish communities from around the globe.

The main international ceremony will be held in the National Institutions Building, in Jerusalem, and will be live-streamed on Facebook. During the ceremony, we'll also include and livestream all of the communities taking part in the ceremony from all over the world.

We invite you to join us, hold a ceremony of your own, and join the live stream.

To livestream your ceremonies being held all over the world, please include the following:

  • A table covered with a black tablecloth and 25 memorial candles
  • An Israeli flag and a flag of the country you are in
  • A video camera that can capture the table, flags, and participants
  • A computer with a Zoom connection. Your Zoom name must be the name of the place which is being live-streamed. Invite as many people as possible to the ceremony (at least 10 people, though we hope to have several dozens of participants at each community event).
  • An internet connection
  • A screen
  • A point of contact that you'd like us to keep in touch with.

Please note:

Just before the event, you'll receive a set of documents including the ceremony line-up and printable materials

After the ceremony, you can continue with your own line-up, and we'll be able to watch you via Zoom

*The main ceremony in Jerusalem will be held in Hebrew and will be interpreted simultaneously into various languages, so you'll be able to follow the event in the language you are most comfortable with.

The ceremonies will be held on Sunday, November 5th, 2023, the 21st of Heshvan, 5883, at 7 P.M. (Israel time).

If you want to participate in the event, please send us the contact details of your point of contact.

For answers to questions, registration, and more information, please contact until Tuesday, October 31, 2023
