With the presence of 150 participants last night, we had the honor to lead the Bible quiz finals in New York, together with the Israeli ministry of education and the AZM.
This event is an integral part to the finals that will be held in Israel on Hannukah, between November 28th-3oth.
We would like to share with you a part of Mr.Silvio Joskowicz's, our head of department, speech on "Why do we need a Bible contest? It is a book that was written hundreds of years ago.
"It may seem anachronistic, but for me, today's world cannot hold its own without the biblical heritage. This applies not only to us, living in Israel where we speak the language of the Bible. You can learn from the Bible and speak its language anywhere in the world. Because there, between the pages of the Bible, lay the foundations of human behavior and through the biblical narrative the moral norms of our lives are defined.
Today, it is our responsibility to connect the values and messages of the Bible to the younger generation. We need to create a dialogue regarding the texts, share it, raise questions and doubts, and encourage the search for answers but also add questions that will allow us to continue to evolve."
