Jewish education conference in Latin America

After nearly two and a half years of epidemic, about 1,500 educators, school principals and teachers from Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Brazil and more are attending the largest Jewish education conference in Latin America held in Argentina.


The conference, led by the Department of the Zionist Enterprises together with the Local Community Committee in Argentina - AMIA, the Department of Education and the Hebrew Department of the World Zionist Organization in collaboration with a subsidiary of the Ministry of Diaspora - UNITED and Herzog College, will receive recognition from the Argentinean government and the Ministry of Education.


For the first time, the conference is recognized by the Argentine Ministry of Education as teacher training and deals with many issues related to education in general and Jewish education in particular. Many of the topics that are raised during this conference deals with the new era of life alongside the corona and the return to a routine in the educational aspect.


This is the fourth time that the education event has been held and this is the first year, since 2019 where the conference is held with the physical participation of all participants. Among the participants are Rabbi Shai Piron, former Minister of Education, Dr. Miri Schlissel, Chairman of the Pedagogical Secretariat of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Anat Goodman, an expert in the use of modern technologies in education, and Prof. Yehuda Brandes, Rector of Herzog College.


Mr. Silvio Joskowicz, the head of the Department of the Zionist Enterprises and a native of Argentina, participated at the conference and said: "A day after marking 28 years since the horrific attack on the Jewish community center in Buenos Aires - AMIA, more than 1,500 Jewish educators meet here to strengthen Jewish identity and connection to Israel. The participation, learning and membership in this conference should be a symbol of the entire Jewish people. Our power in is in our unity!
