The Young ZF also known as "The Israeli Salon” is an initiative established by the Department for Diaspora Activities shaliach in conjunction with the local ZF in London.
"The Israeli Salon” aims to create a setting where the young Israeli community can feel at home, meet fellow Israelis, speak Ivrit and eat Israeli food. It provides a framework for community encounters between young Israelis living in London, mostly postgraduate students, and young people living and working in London, as well as for second generation Israelis.
The group meets up weekly for Shabbat meals, celebrates festivals together and offers a wide range of cultural encounters related to Israel, Judaism and Zionism, including screenings of Israeli films, joint meetings with Israel Connect, the ZF’s young leadership group, and more besides. Members are also engaged in voluntary work projects, such as volunteers’ day at the pediatric department of a local hospital, and broader range of organized activities, such as participation in the British delegation on March of the Living to Poland, or organizing activities for Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut at schools, synagogues and university campuses.
"The Israeli Salon” has over 400 registered participants to date!
