Given the success of the Israeli Kabalat Shabbat that is held once a month in Berlin by the Department for Activities in the Diaspora in Germany’s shaliach, Rotem Malach, or as it is known by its local name: LSD -Let's Start Davening, Fabian Wolf, journalist for the Jewish magazine Jüdische Allgemeine, came to cover the special musical Kabalat Shabbat that was held in a theatre in the center of Berlin.
In his article covering the Kabalat Shabbat on February 14th, the journalist emotionally described the special experience of participating in that Kabalat Shabbat together with the 50 youngsters that come there every month.
It should also be mentioned that the Department for Activities in the Diaspora in Germany’s shaliach initiated the launch of the “Tachles” Program for teaching everyday Hebrew in Berlin, and the first round of the Hebrew course for beginners was opened. About three hours after it was open for registration the course list was filled, and the course began with an introductory session with all the participants.
In addition, registration for the Tamar Germany spring seminar was opened after weeks of planning and preparations the registration for the seminar, which will engage in Tikkun Olam and sustainability from a Jewish-Zionist angle. The seminar will be held between 6.6-9.6, in the heart of nature, in Templin, Germany. 50 Jewish students are expected to participate in the seminar. Prior to the seminar the Department’s shaliach in Berlin has promoted cooperation with the JNF shaliach in Germany who will conduct workshops on the subject of sustainability in Israel during the seminar.
