With the situation in Southern Israel and Gaza now world headlines, many have become impassioned to show support for Israel’s defense against rocket attacks. While small groups of protestors were seen around Boston ignoring the rocket fire from Gaza’s ruling Hamas, a rally organized by Boston’s Jewish community was put on to ensure that the city and those critical of Israel don’t forget Israel’s precarious position. USD/Hagshama organized a Chanukah event for students and young professionals at Frank N Patties restaurant in Sunrise, FL. With over 70 participants in attendance, the night was filled with food, laughter, stories, and the biggest snowball fight in south Florida.
Over 300 community members, along with university students and young professionals showed their support for Gilad Shalit at the freedom walk on December 21st. After the walk, there was a Chanukah candle lighting in honor of Shalit, as well as a documentary about his capture.
