The Department for Social Activism, Tikkun Olam and Preservation of Zionist Heritage initiates and participates in a wide variety of events and conferences:

The Annual Conference for Zionism and Democracy
This conference was born out of the vision of the Department for Social Activism and Tikkun Olam to promote a Zionist and democratic society that the entire Israeli society can connect with and participate in. At the first conference held in 2019, we dealt with pressing issues on the agenda of Israeli society and examined the centrality of democratic values and concepts in Zionism today. We presented a diverse Zionism and its connection to the state of Israel as a democratic state. The topics covered by the conference included Zionism and democracy in the eyes of the law, Zionism and democracy in education and Zionism 2050. Among the participants of the conference were pre-military preparatory schools, national service programs, students and scholars. Our aspiration is to encourage action and significant social and political involvement among young people. In 2020, the conference was held to mark the 25th anniversary of the assassination of the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. The conference was held in an online format in collaboration with the Israel Democracy Institute. Some of the topics the sessions dealt with included: incitement in Israeli society, freedom of expression in creation, the responsibility of the political leadership in curbing incitement and reuniting the rifts, and the status of Israeli democracy today.

The Memorial Rally for Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance by Yad Mordechai
The Memorial Rally for Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance, which has been held for more than sixty years at Kibbutz Yad Mordechai, is the main ceremony that concludes the Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day. Kibbutz Yad Mordechai, named after Mordechai Anilevich the commander of the Warsaw Ghetto, and whose founders are Holocaust survivors, symbolizes the heroism of the fighters and rebels during the Holocaust. The rally is taking place for the third year with the help of the Department of Social Activism and Tikkun Olam and the Chavatzelet group.
